Academic Disclaimer

1. Nature of Algorithmic Screening
ScholarScreen is an automated academic assistive forensics engine engineered to identify verbatim textual overlap, synonym substitution (paraphrase laundering), and stylometric signatures indicative of AI-assisted drafting.
The numeric scores provided (including TSI, Similarity Percentage, and AI Likelihood) are probabilistic diagnostic indicators, not legal declarations or conclusive determinations of misconduct.
2. Subject-Matter Context & Discretion
In academic writing, common domain nomenclature, standard laboratory protocols, statutory citations, and properly attributed quotations may naturally generate algorithmic similarity matches.
Final academic judgment remains strictly with qualified human evaluators—including doctoral defense committees, journal peer reviewers, university ethics boards, and faculty supervisors. ScholarScreen reports are intended to serve as consultative evidence to facilitate human review.
3. AI Content Probability vs. Proof
AI detection utilizes perplexity, burstiness, and stylometric variance algorithms. Due to rapid advancements in generative language models and the natural linguistic precision of experienced scholarly writers, no AI detection algorithm can achieve 100% certainty. A high AI score indicates anomalous uniformity in sentence cadence, not definitive proof of automated generation.
4. No Copyright or Legal Advice
ScholarScreen does not provide copyright infringement counsel, judicial claims, or legal representation. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
